TAMPA, FL, May 2, 2006 – Pegasus Imaging Corporation, the leader in digital image compression and editing technologies, today announces the latest version of its flagship software development toolkit ImagXpress has just been released. Version 8 introduces enhanced .NET features, a new thumbnail image control, additional document image enhancement capabilities, and advanced photo imaging features. ImagXpress is a comprehensive .NET and COM software development kit providing both document imaging and photo imaging technology. Developers now have access to a more complete object-oriented .NET architecture and a new control providing sophisticated thumbnail image support. Enhanced and more accurate document image clean up features offer the ability to create smaller file sizes and improve OCR accuracy. Enhanced features include binarization, auto deskew, despeckle, and border crop. New features include line removal, hole punch removal, blank page detection, and a “preserve dark” feature used to enhance the fine lines and detail on thumbnail images. Barcode, ICR, OCR, OMR, ISIS scanning, advanced document cleanup, full PDF support, forms recognition, and forms processing are all available as add on toolkits to ImagXpress, depending on customer requirements.
